Priest: Class Starter

Priest is the only class with two healing specializations — one built on direct holy light, one on damage-reduction and shields — plus Shadow, a damage spec built on damage-over-time pressure.

The specializations

• Discipline — the prevention healer: shields and absorbs that stop damage before it lands, plus healing through damage-dealing.
• Holy — the classic reactive healer: big direct heals and strong recovery tools.
• Shadow — ranged DPS built on sustained shadow damage and periodic burst windows.

Signature utility

Power Word: Fortitude is a raid-wide stamina buff every group wants; Mass Dispel removes effects other classes cannot touch; Leap of Faith yanks a crewmate out of trouble; and Priests carry both a resurrection and a mind control for niche situations.

Who enjoys Priest

Players drawn to healing who want two distinct ways to do it, or caster DPS who like a darker flavor. Discipline in particular rewards planning over reflexes — a spec for the strategic-minded.
