Personal Responsibility in Raids

Survival, mechanics, and honest self-review — what you actually control inside a twenty-person wipe.

RaidingMechanicsImprovement

In a raid, almost nothing is fully your fault — and almost everything is partly your responsibility. The players who improve fastest are the ones who audit themselves before the group does.

Survival is your job

  • Healers triage; they do not carry players who stand in things. Use your defensive before the big hit, not after.
  • Personal defensives, healthstones, and movement tools exist for scheduled damage — spend them on schedule.
  • Dying to a mechanic you knew about is the reviewable mistake; dying to chaos is raiding.

Mechanics before meters

The damage meter shows one column of a fight. The player who does fewer numbers but handles every assignment is worth more than the meter-topper standing in the wrong place. On progression, 'did we execute the plan' outranks 'who parsed'.

Review yourself honestly

  • After a wipe, ask what killed you before asking what killed the raid.
  • One mechanic at a time: fix the thing that killed you last pull, then the next.
  • Ask for specifics — 'what should I do on the spread?' — rather than absorbing vague advice.
