ProfessionsCraftingSpecialization

Crafting professions turn materials into things people equip and consume. Each one has a personality — pick by what you want to make, then accept its costs.

What each one does, briefly

  • Alchemy: potions, flasks, and transmutes — steady demand every raid night.
  • Blacksmithing: plate armor, weapons, profession tools.
  • Enchanting: gear enchantments and disenchanting unwanted items into materials.
  • Engineering: gadgets, goggles, and utility toys — the quirky one.
  • Inscription: glyphs, contracts, and cosmetic or utility items.
  • Jewelcrafting: gems, jewelry, and prospecting ore.
  • Leatherworking: leather and mail armor plus profession accessories.
  • Tailoring: cloth armor, bags, and spellthread — bags alone keep it relevant.

Specialization trees

Modern crafting professions have specialization trees — knowledge you spend to get better at specific product families. You cannot max everything at once, so pick a lane: the items your guildmates actually request, or the category you enjoy making. Knowledge is account-defining for that character; spend it deliberately.

The honest economics

Leveling a craft costs materials — gathered yourself or bought. The return comes from orders, sales, and self-sufficiency over the season, not the first week. Crafters who enjoy the system profit; crafters chasing a spreadsheet usually do not.
