Raid healing is dungeon healing with a team. Instead of owning every health bar, you own a share of them — and the skill is coordination more than reflexes.

Assignments exist for a reason

Raid leaders often assign healers to groups, tanks, or specific damage events. Follow the assignment first; freelance second. A raid dies when everyone heals the same visible emergency while the assigned tank quietly falls over.

Raid damage is scheduled

Boss encounters repeat their dangerous moments on timers. Learn the two or three big raid-wide hits per boss and plan your cooldowns for them — that plan, not per-second reaction speed, is most of raid healing.

Coordinate cooldowns

  • Agree on an order before the pull — first big hit, second big hit, who covers emergencies.
  • Call when you use yours so the next healer knows the rotation moved forward.
  • Personal defensives from the raid count as healing too — remind the group to use them before you cover everything yourself.

Avoid tunnel vision

Raid frames are hypnotic. Look up at the fight regularly — standing in the mechanic while topping everyone off is the classic healer wipe contribution. Dead healers heal nothing.
