AddonsWeakAurasUI

WeakAuras is an addon that displays custom indicators on your screen — icons, bars, and text that appear when a condition you care about is true. It is the most powerful addon in WoW and the easiest to misuse.

What people use it for

  • Cooldown tracking: an icon when a key ability is ready.
  • Buff and debuff tracking: 'you are missing your mitigation' or 'you have the dangerous debuff'.
  • Encounter helpers: packs built for a specific boss that simplify its mechanics.
  • Class helpers: rotation reminders and resource trackers for your spec.

Importing

Auras are shared as import strings — long codes you paste into the addon. Wago.io is the community library: find your spec or the encounter, copy the string, import, done. Only import from sources the community trusts, and read what an aura does before letting it on your screen.

Avoid the clutter spiral

  • Import one pack at a time and live with it a week — screen density grows fast.
  • Delete auras you stop looking at. An indicator you have learned to ignore is pure noise.
  • Position matters: important alerts belong near your character, informational ones at the edges.
