Suggested path

Tank

Control the fight, protect the crew, and keep everything pointed away from the people wearing cloth.

For players learning to tank — any class, any experience level.

Follow the stages in any order — nothing here is required or locked.

What you'll learn

  • Understand threat, positioning, and fight control
  • Use mitigation and defensives deliberately
  • Pull, group, and pace dungeon content
  • Handle tank swaps and raid positioning

Suggested Path

Stages, not requirements — jump to whatever you need.

What a Tank Actually Does

Own the fight — the rest is detail.

Staying Alive

Role-focused survivability — not a class rotation.

  • Active mitigation

Keep your short-cooldown mitigation running during pulls rather than saving it.

  • Defensive cooldowns

Layer big defensives on the dangerous moments — large pulls, boss abilities, healer droughts.

  • Watch your healer

Their mana and position set your real pace more than the timer does.

Controlling the Pull

What you pull, how you gather it, and where it stands.

Practice · Run a normal or heroic dungeon focusing on enemy positioning rather than speed.

Dungeon Tanking

Routes, trash, and boss movement.

  • Routes and pacing

A steady route beats a fast wipe — check healer mana and group cooldowns between pulls.

  • Trash management

Most dungeon danger lives between bosses — gather, face, interrupt, survive.

  • Boss positioning

Move deliberately, point breaths and cleaves away, and leave the group room to work.

Raid Tanking

Two tanks, one plan.
